How is Drime Transfer different from Drive sharing?

Updated over 4 months ago

Drime Transfer and Drive sharing serve different purposes and have distinct features:

Drime Transfer

  • Designed for sending large files externally, even to recipients without a Drime account.

  • Files are sent independently of your workspace and do not count toward workspace storage.

  • Supports password protection and expiration dates for added security.

  • Transfer links are temporary (default 7 days, up to 30 days).

  • Ideal for one-time or occasional file deliveries.

Drime Drive Sharing

  • Allows you to share files and folders stored in your workspace with members or external users.

  • Shared files count toward the workspace owner’s storage.

  • Supports permissions, passwords, expiration dates, track file, and customized links (Essentials plan or higher).

  • Designed for collaboration, with real-time updates and access control.

Summary

  • Use Drime Transfer for quick, secure one-time external file transfers.

  • Use Drive sharing for ongoing collaboration within workspaces or with trusted recipients.
